Writer Highway Autumn 2nd Event - Open Mic
Firstly I would like to say we held our First Autumn Event last Satruday (28th Oct). The afternoon was lovely, well organised, nice venue and a very relaxed couple of hours of listening and performing brilliant written pieces. We had poems, prose readings, extracts from memoir (very interesting, moving) and also had the results of the Writer Highway's first Short Story Competition. We heard extracts or beginnings of winners stories and I for one certainly want to hear more, I want to know what happened. I look forward to enjoying the stories in the WH e-magazine which will be coming out shortly. There will also be a booklet with all stories entered a little later in the academic year. There was plenty of time to chat to friends and get drinks from the bar.
Now down to Event 2 - Open Mic at the Playwright (2pm-4pm) on Thursday 16th November. I am attaching the invitation with details of the event. The closing date is Thursday 2nd November, so let me know if you would like to attend and also if you wish to book a reading slot. We would love to see you. A reminder of our last Event for the Term will be with you shortly. Not many places left, but get in touch if you want details or want to book a place. The event is a Christmas Extravaganza (5th December - 2pm to 4pm) which promises an afternoon of writing, quiz etc. Closing date for this event is 21st November 2023 (Midnight).

It was a super afternoon in a very relaxed environment. The organisers did a great job at compering, and it was a real treat to listen to such fabulous writing. Lovely also to have the time to catch up and chat with friends. Thank you, Annie, Helen and Cal for hosting such a fabulous event. I thoroughly enjoyed it. 😊
