Stage show at Derby Folk Weekend

Many of you will now know that I write a few folk songs as well as poetry. Over the last 5 years I have written several songs telling the story of my family history from 1790 to 1960. The songs have been linked into a narrative and will be performed at Derby Folk Weekend on October 1st, 4pm. The songs will be sung by my husband, Mark, ( amateur folk singer) and Fi Fraser (well known Derby folk singer, currently part of Narthen folk group). I will be delivering the narrative. The show will take place in the ballroom at The Old Bell, Sadler Gate, Derby. Would be lovely to see some of you there!

The story starts with a young man leaving Lake Como in 1797 and covers the family's working stories (lacemaking to iron founding) as well as the more personal - love, betrayal, illegitimacy, survival. The show is called COMO BOY TO CORAM GIRL.

A single ticket includes this show (approx 50 mins) followed by a show by folk singer-song writer- guitarist Katie Spencer. Tickets now on sale from Derby Live.
